Happy Easter!
I'm back in Tallahassee after a few days "on the road." Drove back to Gulf Breeze, went over to New Orleans to pick up my brother, drove back to Gulf Breeze, drove back to New Orleans again to drop off my brother, back again to Gulf Breeze, and finally home to Tallahassee... that essentially sums up my miles on the road.
I didn't get to do all that I wanted to do.... I would've loved to have stopped in Mobile, but there aren't many places to go at 2 a.m.!
Coincidentally, I was in New Orleans during Holy Week, just as I was last year (and ironically, I was there last year to attend the National Hurricane Conference.) To say the city has changed, is beyond understatement! But life is pouring back into the city, and of course, the food is always great! Ate at Jacques-imo's and had some great barbecue shrimp and alligator & sausage cheesecake!
In between drives, I managed to find sometime to relax on the beach and hang out with my dad. He was surf fishing for pompano, and I took some time to jump into the Gulf for a swim... my BIG MISTAKE. Overexertion on my chronically aching back led to a pinched nerve. I now can't sit without a shooting pain from my back to my left leg... looks like I hurt my sciatic nerve. OUCH! It took me more than five hours to get back to Tallahassee 'cause I had to stop so much my back and leg hurt!
I have a doc's appointment tomorrow... please pray for the best!
